Chetna Jalan started performing when she was still a teenager Chetna has performed at several prestigious dance festivals, music conferences and cultural functions in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chandigarh, Vrindavan, Dhanbad. Her performances abroad include in Europe (1993), Japan, USA (1982), Middle East (1979), USA (1969-70).
She was invited for Kuopio Dance Festival, Finland, Hong Kong Academy, Hong Kong, Bharat Cultural Lodge, Bangkok and at International Dance Symposium, Seoul for performing and holding lecture-demonstration.
She has also choreographed numerous Kathak items and taught dance at Ali Akbar College of Music, San Francisco (USA) She was a jury-member for International Ballet Competition, Moscow (1985 and 1989) and for USA International Ballet Competition, Mississipi (1994).
Chetna’s canvas also includes theatre arts for which she was trained at American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco. She has acted in plays directed by eminent Indian Directors and by Walfarm Mehrin (Paris), Fritz Bennewitz (Germany) and William Ball (San Francisco).
